Birthday boy goes on a hunt.

What do you give your husband who doesn't want anything for his birthday and already has something in mind to buy himself? A bunch of *random items* he loves from the grocery store. I decided to go a little crazy and turn these little presents into a treasure hunt which he loved and was very surprised with because who doesn't love a treasure hunt?

*Scentsy isn't from the grocery store, but I let him order three new fruity scents because he loves our scentsy.*

*A couple of items and clues have been left off, because I keep this blog G rated! Ha.*

We went out to Iggy's that night with his parents and had a yummy time.

Elder Simmons #4.

Greg's little brother Eric left to serve a LDS mission for two years on March 18.  It was so sad to see him all grown up and leaving us but we are so excited for him!  Eric was very much ready to go as well.

Eric is Elder Simmons #4 in this family.  Can you believe Mom Simmons will have had eight years of a son being gone by the time Eric gets home!?  Now that's a tough woman.

We are just lovin' this warm weather.

Aren't you?

Another year older.

My 24th birthday was a success thanks to all my loving family members and friends.  I had so many people wish me happy birthday so thank you all!

My sister especially spoiled me this year.  Kristen made sure I had a fun night out on Saturday, because my birthday fell on last Sunday.  Then she invited the family over for cake and ice cream on my birthday.

The cake she made was just adorable and made out of her own homemade fondant!  Quite the talented sister I have I know.

My mom that it was too cute my flower matched my birthday cake.

Since Greg and I's birthdays are so close together I always make him blow out the candles with me.

23 at 23.

It's that time of year again. My birthday!  It's in two days and I am going to turn 24.  Last year I put together a list of things I did in my 22nd year of life.  I decided to make it tradition and make a list of things I did and what happened in my 23rd year.  It's even in order this year!

1.  Picked out a puppy for my 23rd birthday and named her Charlotte.

2.  Celebrated my husband's 23rd birthday.

3.  Moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for Greg's summer work.

4.  Spent a week in sunny Florida with my family.  Greg was MIA because of work commitments.

5.  Celebrated 5 years of "togetherness" with Gregory.

6.  Discovered a wonderfully good Mexican restaurant called Azteca right next to our apartments in NC.

7.  Took a day trip with Gregory to Lake Lure which National Geographic named the nation's top ten most beautiful man made lakes.

8.  Enjoyed illegal, by Utah standards, fire work fun in South Carolina on the Forth of July.

9.  Put together a messenger bag.

10.  Celebrated two years of marriage.

11.  Spent a small romantic getaway in Myrtle Beach to enjoy our two year anniversary.

12.  Traveled across the country in a car once again, but with a dog this time.

13.  Moved back to Utah.

14.  Started my last semester of college.

15.  Enjoyed the annual Miller family Park City trip over Labor Day weekend.

16.  Discovered the wonderful work out of Yoga.

17.  Dressed up as Gregory for Halloween.

18.  Got pregnant.

19.  Saw a brother-in-law get married.

20.  Got a new job.

21.  Took a cruise to Mexico while in my first trimester of pregnancy.

22.  Graduated from Weber State University with my Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion.

23.  Learned that our little one is going to be a little girl.

I had a quite an awesome 23rd year.  It's going to be tough to beat!  But finally meeting this little girl I know will blow this 23rd year out of the water.

March 10, 2009

This snow stinks.

But how can you not smile when your little brother-in-law makes this guy in your backyard?

Charlotte hated our new friend at first.  It was quite funny.

Felt flower headband.

As you can see from my recent posts, since I have graduated from college in December, I have had a lot more free time on my hands to make things! It has been so nice.
While browsing around the web one night I found these adorable felt flowers on headbands on etsy. I decided I could try to make one even though it doesn't look half as good as the one's on etsy.
All I did was buy some felt to make the flowers and I had some jersey material already to make the actual headband itself.

Hopefully, with more practice, I can start making more and stocking up for our little girl due in July.

Onesies for the little one.

I have been told that babies make a lot of messes and you just might have to change their clothes a lot.  I bought some plain white onesies and had some fun with them with fabric scraps.

So even if I am changing her clothes a lot during the day from one huge blowout after another, why not spice the onesie up a bit?
